Why Stratdigy. Why Now.

After three decades working in data, I’ve learned that the most interesting problems rarely have simple answers.
I’ve spent my career looking at those problems from a lot of different perspectives, as a data modeler and architect, inside a Fortune 100 enterprise, as a consultant, as a product evangelist, and as part of the Snowflake community. I’ve helped organizations design data platforms, modernize architectures, establish modeling practices, adopt new technologies, and think differently about how data creates value.
Each chapter has changed the way I think about technology, strategy, and what it really takes to move an organization forward.
Stratdigy is the next chapter.
Why Stratdigy?
The name Stratdigy comes from two ideas that have shaped how I’ve approached my career: strategy and direction.
We work in an industry that has never lacked technology.
There is always another platform, architecture, methodology, framework, or emerging trend promising to change how we work. Today, AI has accelerated that cycle even further. New capabilities are appearing at a pace that would have been difficult to imagine only a few years ago.
But more technology doesn’t necessarily make the decisions easier.
In many ways, it makes them harder.
Organizations have more choices than ever. What they often need isn’t another technology recommendation. They need experienced perspective to understand where they are today, where they want to go, and which decisions will actually help them get there.
That is the idea behind Stratdigy.
Strategy + Direction.
Why Now?
Over the course of my career, I’ve had the opportunity to experience the data industry from very different vantage points.
I spent more than 17 years inside a Fortune 100 organization, where I saw firsthand what it takes to evolve enterprise data architecture over time. I’ve worked in consulting, helping organizations navigate modernization, architecture, governance, data modeling, and Snowflake. More recently, I’ve worked in product facing leadership and evangelism roles, connecting technology, customers, product teams, sales teams, and the broader industry.
Along the way, I’ve also had the privilege of becoming deeply involved in the data community speaking at conferences, leading workshops and webinars, writing, participating in user groups, and learning from some incredibly talented people.
Those experiences have given me something I value more today than ever, Perspective.
Not just on how technology works, but on why certain approaches succeed, why others struggle, and how technical decisions connect to people, processes, business objectives, and organizational realities.
At this point in my career, I want the ability to bring that perspective to more than one organization, one product, or one role.
That’s why now is the right time for Stratdigy.
What Stratdigy Will Do
Stratdigy brings together three areas of work that have increasingly converged throughout my career.
Strategic Advisory provides organizations with independent, senior level guidance across data strategy, architecture, modernization, Snowflake, data modeling, DataOps, and the evolving AI landscape. Sometimes the greatest value comes from having an experienced person at the table who can challenge assumptions, ask different questions, validate a direction, or help a team determine what comes next.
Fractional Evangelism helps technology organizations extend their expertise into the market while also creating a stronger connection back to their customers and industry. Evangelism should be a two-way conversation, bringing technical expertise, ideas, and perspectives into the market while bringing customer feedback, emerging needs, and industry perspectives back into the organization.
Thought Leadership allows me to continue something I’ve always enjoyed: sharing what I’ve learned. Through speaking, workshops, webinars, articles, videos, mentoring, training, and industry conversations, I want to help make complex data and AI topics more understandable, practical, and useful.
They are different capabilities, but they share a common foundation: experience, independence, and perspective.
What You’ll Find Here
This blog will be one place where I explore those conversations.
I’ll share perspectives on data strategy, enterprise architecture, data modeling, Snowflake, DataOps, AI, modernization, and whatever else I believe deserves a thoughtful discussion.
Some posts will be technical. Others will be strategic. Some may challenge conventional thinking. And many will probably draw on lessons learned over three decades of seeing this industry evolve.
I don’t expect to have all the answers.
But I’ve learned that asking the right questions is often where good strategy begins.
And helping organizations turn those questions into strategy and direction is exactly why I created Stratdigy.
Welcome to Stratdigy.
